After another disappointing season and a refusal to extend his contract, Thomas Lemar has been placed on the transfer list by Atlético.
The fate of the French world champions in 2018 is quite varied. If some have exploded, several of them have had complicated times since. This is the case of Thomas Lemar. Transferred toAltetico Madrid for 72 million euros, the most expensive transfer in the club’s history at the time, the former Monegasque never managed to win in Spain.
Much less decisive than monaco (0.16 times per game against 0.38), the French international (27 caps, 4 goals) even ended the 2019-2020 season without a single goal or assist… At the end of his contract with the Colchoneros in a year , he would have refused to extend his lease in the Spanish capital. The 2021 Spanish champion would then have made the decision to place him on the transfer list for this summer, if we are to believe information from brandwhich would prevent them from seeing him leave for free next summer.
A replacement already found?
And if no club has come forward yet, Atlético already have an idea in mind to replace Lemar with Carlos Soler (25, Valencia), whose versatile profile would please Diego Simeone. The Spanish international (9 caps, 3 goals) has scored 11 goals and provided 5 assists in La Liga this season, and his contract also expires in a year.
Always on the arrivals side, Axel Witsel would be closer and closer to joining the club for free.
