A 73-year-old driver died in a head-on collision on federal highway 472. Her 75-year-old husband, who was sitting in the car, suffered life-threatening injuries. The woman started near Obersöchering (Weilheim-Schongau district) to overtake a vehicle and crashed head-on into an oncoming trailer, the police said on Wednesday evening. The car was thrown into the guardrail in the afternoon accident. The driver’s husband was taken to the Murnau accident clinic by rescue helicopter, and the slightly injured truck driver (31) also came to this clinic.
