SNCF CEO Jean-Pierre Farandou announced that‘”there is still room” in trains.
For many travelers, this summer vacation looks like a puzzle. Indeed, as noted BFM Businesson the SNCF website, some destinations already indicate “full” or “not bookable”.
This morning, on France 2, the CEO of the carrier mentioned “a record summer, beyond 2019 with already 8 million tickets sold for July and August. This is 10% more than in 2019 so we’re seeing a very strong push.”
Postpone your departure date
To meet this record demand, its boss, Jean-Pierre Farandou, announced that the SNCF was going to put up for sale 500,000 additional places, as reported The Parisian. “We are on our toes, we add oars, we make double compositions with two oars at the same time”, he added.
Jean-Pierre Farandou concedes “that trains are full on the days of major departures” but “there is still room“. And calls on travelers to postpone their departure by a day or two in order to avoid very busy weekends.
