Investigations in Mannheim nursing home set

The public prosecutor’s office has closed the investigation into negligent homicide and negligent bodily harm in a nursing home in Mannheim. As the authority announced on Thursday, there was no sufficient suspicion of a breach of duty by a senior home employee. The investigators became active because of a criminal complaint from the city of Mannheim in November 2021 after a corona outbreak with several deaths. They had already stopped their investigations – also because of a possible violation of the Infection Protection Act – in the middle of this month.

According to earlier information, the background is an autumn festival in the interior of the home, in which several residents who tested positive are said to have taken part on October 10th. After that, there should be several dozen in mid-October corona-Infections in the house and, as a result, deaths.

The group of companies with 2000 employees operates nationwide 26 inpatient care facilities with around 1700 places.
