After an aborted foreclosure in Edenkoben, the police continued to search for a possibly armed man in and around the Palatinate city on Thursday. This was announced by the police headquarters in Rheinpfalz. However, the forces were significantly reduced after a helicopter and sniffer dogs were used on Wednesday.

A bailiff wanted to “execute coercive measures” in the 53-year-old’s apartment on Wednesday, as it was said. After the man showed a knife, the police surrounded the house. “Special forces found that the 53-year-old was no longer in the apartment,” it said. The search was then launched.

A preliminary investigation was initiated against the man, among other things, on suspicion of violating the Weapons Act. The police said there were no concrete indications that third parties were in danger. However, there were further appeals not to pick up hitchhikers in the region and to report suspects.
